After logging in, you will find any discord communities you already manage on your account page.
To add a new listing to XIV Directory, simply click on + Register new listing
on the sidebar to the right (or below on mobile). This link will take you to the registration page where you can select the discord community
you want to register.
After that, just follow the wizard and, in 4 short steps, submit it and your discord server will be listed!
Why do I have to invite the bot?
The XIV Directory bot is required to list a discord server to allow us to guarantee that servers have a valid
invite link, which can be replaced quickly if expired/removed. This also allows us to collect
and update basic data, such as if the server icon changes and how many members the server has, to keep your
listing as up-to-date as possible.
If this link was manually given to us, the link could expire, or become invalid
(such as if a server lost their custom invite link from Boost level 3).
In future, the bot will also help us provide server managers with metrics about how their server is performing on XIV Directory.
We only ask for the most basic and necessary permissions in order for the bot to function -
only asking for "Create Invites" and "Manage Webhook" permissions.
The bot cannot even read text channels.
For more information about what data it uses, stores, and why, check out our privacy policy.
I invited the bot, but the registration reports a permissions issue.
This warning may appear when the bot is granted permissions on the server to create an invite, but
denied it on the channel when it tries. By default, the bot will try to create an invite
against a rules channel (in a Community server). Otherwise, it will try to use the first
available text channel it can see.
To fix this, add permissions to the bot on the channel for the bot, with "Create Invite" permission
enabled on the channel. The server will need to wait for a refresh before it can proceed,
but you can check if the bot is configured correctly by using the "/checkinvite" command.

How do I list an online community/resource with no discord presence?
Much like listing a discord-based community, other communities can also be listed following
a similar process. On your account page, click on + Register new listing
on the sidebar to the right (or below on mobile).
This link will take you to the registration page where you can scroll down to the bottom of the page
and click on the register a resource without Discord button.
Follow the steps in the wizard and submit at the end. There will be a small period where your
listing does not initially appear, since it needs to be manually checked and approved.
Contrary to a discord server, where the ownership can be automatically verified,
we need to validate your ownership to the community you are trying to create.
After this validation is completed, your listing will be available to others, and you will
be able to modify the listing without requiring further verification. Currently, only one
person can be attached to a non-discord community at a time, so make sure the right
person is registering it.
If you believe someone else has claimed your own community as theirs, do reach out to us immediately
to rectify the situation.
How can I contact you?
The best way to contact us about your data and privacy is through our
Support server, by creating a ticket
in #directory-support to put you in direct contact with our staff.
Alternatively, you can reach us through [email protected].
Why do I need to login to the website to see some of the servers?
Due to the age rating of some servers, we do not show them by default unless the user is logged
in and sets their preferences to opt-in. You can set these preferences by clicking on Account Settings
on the sidebar to the right (or below on mobile) on your account page.
Mature servers (including drug references, references to violence, or some sexual content)
are able to be opted-out from searches through these preferences.
Adult servers (focused on NSFW content, or flagged by discord as age-restricted) will only
be shown if opted-in from user preferences.
How do I remove my listing?
If you decide you don’t want to be listed any more, you can simply go to the “Edit Listing”
page and use the “Remove Listing” button. You will be asked to confirm your decision,
before the Listing is removed. It will still remain unlisted but stored for 30 days in case
you change your mind, after which it will be permanently deleted.
Kicking the bot from your discord server will also unlist you immediately, and reinviting the
bot will stop the deletion process if you change your mind.
